10. Chrome Extension — Scrap Silver Calculator

We publish an official browser extension, Scrap Silver Calculator, on the Chrome Web Store. This section describes the extension's data practices, which are separate from — and stricter than — the website practices described above.

What the extension stores (on your device only)

• Your preferences — default weight unit, purity, currency, refiner fee, calculation mode, and theme. Stored with Chrome's storage.sync, which keeps them inside your own Chrome profile (synced across your own signed-in browsers by Google's standard Chrome Sync). We never see them.
• A cached spot price — the last silver price and exchange rates fetched, stored locally so the calculator works offline. We never see it.

You can erase this data at any time from the extension's Settings page ("Restore defaults" / "Clear cached price") or by uninstalling the extension.

Network requests

The extension makes exactly one type of network request: it downloads the current silver spot price and currency exchange rates as JSON from our own domain, scrapsilvercalc.com. This request contains no personal information, identifiers, or calculator inputs; it is handled by our web server like any ordinary page visit (see sections 1–6 above regarding server logs). The extension cannot contact any other website, and it cannot read the pages you visit. Your weights, purities, quantities, and calculated values never leave your device — all calculations run locally in your browser.

Permissions explained

• storage — saves your preferences and the cached price, as described above.
• Access to scrapsilvercalc.com — fetches the live price data, as described above.

What the extension does not do

• No collection of personally identifiable, health, financial, authentication, communication, location, web-history, or user-activity data
• No analytics, telemetry, cookies, or advertising
• No sale or transfer of data to third parties
• No use of data for creditworthiness or lending purposes
